Emma Helleur - Marriage Celebrant Nelson | Tasman

I’m marriage celebrant based in the Nelson Tasman region, but happy to travel!

Choosing a marriage celebrant is a huge decision. This person plays a big part in your wedding story. It’s important that you and your celebrant go together like coffee and a Tim Tam.

I’m available for your wedding whether you’re bride/bride, bride/groom or groom/groom (I’m pretty sure I even married my cat and dog when I was a child – everyone deserves love!)

The Process

This is an important meeting. It’s a chance for us to get to know each other. This first meeting is a fee-free no-obligation meeting. Ideally, this meeting will be face-to-face, however, if required it can be done over Zoom. This is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about your wedding day. Plans you already have, and things you may not have thought about.

Fantastic! This is exciting!

I’ll send you a confirmation email with an invoice and any information you might need to know.

This is your chance to pick my brain too. I’ve got a lot of creativity rolling around in there!

I will send you a questionnaire about your relationship. Taking what I know about you and your story, I’ll write a draft copy of your ceremony. Then we’ll get together for a second meeting.

Here I’ll read you your ceremony. Once I’ve read it to you we can make any edits required.

The rehearsal ideally involves the celebrant, the couple, the wedding party and anyone else involved in the ceremony (flower girls, ring bearers, parents). This is our chance to practice. To make sure everyone knows what they’re doing and when. And most importantly, to make sure you are comfortable and stress-free ahead of the big day!

It’s finally here!

I’ll be at your venue 30 minutes before your ceremony begins. I will liaise with your other vendors to ensure everything is going to plan.

I’ll welcome and greet your guests as they arrive.

Most importantly I’ll lead you through your ceremony and get you married

Probably the second most important part of the whole process, I’ll lodge your paperwork with Births, Deaths & Marriages (BDM) to register your marriage.

I’ll present you with your copy of the signed marriage license too.

The packags

An elopement service is very small and basic. A ‘registry’ ceremony has many parameters set by Births, Deaths & Marriages. However any celebrant can do a small elopement. When booking an elopement with me, you can still have many guests, personalised vows and a photographer. There are no pre-meetings or rehearsals in this option.  Read more about elopements here.

In a small ceremony you can have as many guests as you like, a photographer and personalised vows. We will have an initial meeting, and I will write a personalised ceremony using your story. This option is for a ceremony without a bridal party, and without a rehearsal.

This option is for a full ceremony including guests, photographer, personalised vows, personalised script written about your story, a bridal party and rehearsal.

Everything included in the full celebrant service, plus I will stay on for the evening as your MC and will lead you through your night. Read more about my MC service here.

Kashana & Jalen

“We couldn’t have had a better celebrant. I can’t even describe how amazing Emma was for us! Made the process so so easy. Was a breath of fresh air for us. Being able to come up with ideas that we never thought of. Just down to earth, and bringing such a beautiful vibrancy to our day. How she put our ceremony together.. I couldn’t find better words than how she put it. Was perfect. We are so grateful to have had her marry us. Wouldn’t of had it any other way.”
